We've all heard of the Red Hat Society, but who says women have to be over the age of fifty to start having fun?

Britta Lee Zweibohmer of Hiawatha and Jennifer Sweeney of Urbana are joining forces to form Cedar Rapids' first Pink Hat Society.

If you are a woman in your thirties or forties, are energetic, creative, and looking to form new meaningful friendships, please consider joining our group. We hope to assemble twelve women who will meet once a month to share joy, laughter, gossip, and delicious goodies.

Women our age tend to have a lot of commitments that involve the needs of others. We are busy with family, work, civic, school, and church commitments. Wouldn't it be great to join a group simply to have some fun and enjoy "me time?" Our hopes for this group are to keep it positive and upbeat.

There are no membership fees, rules, or nothing to buy. The only commitments are wearing a pink hat and hosting one gathering in your home each year. It may be a tea party, coffee clutch, or other "sweet treat event". This is a grand opportunity to show off your culinary talents and decorating skills as well as an ideal way to make new friends.

The club is now forming and is limited to twelve members. It will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month.

The Pink Hat Society of Cedar Rapids is officially registered with the National Red Hat Society and "Queen Britta" and "Vice Queen Jennifer" look forward to hearing from you.

It is our hope to include each and every woman who "applies". Since our group is limited to twelve members, we would be more than happy to assist others in organizing a second group if an overwhelming response occurs. It is our belief that young vibrant women deserve an upbeat group based on having fun and keeping a positive attitude…..come join us!
